报告题目:How Quantum Measurement Shapes Optomechanical Tests of Quantum Gravity

Testing the quantum nature of the gravitational field remains a pivotal challenge in modern physics. While general relativity treats gravity as a classical phenomenon, quantum mechanics demands that all fundamental interactions exhibit quantum behavior at some scale. Resolving this tension requires empirical evidence, yet providing experimental evidence for the quantum nature of gravity remains elusive. In this talk, I will discuss the possible optomechanical protocols for testing the quantum nature of gravity. In particular, I will talk about the role of quantum measurement backaction in these protocols---a critical consideration which may fundamentally alter the phenomenology of semi-classical gravity theories. I will discuss how measurement-induced effects could mask, mimic, or even enhance signatures of quantum gravity in optomechanical systems, and explore their implications for near-future experiments.

2016年澳大利亚西澳大学博士学位,2016-2019在加州理工学院做博士后,2019-至今华中科技大学物理学院/引力中心教授。主要研究方向:引力波物理。主要包括:(1)引力波探测器中的量子噪声和量子测量学问题,以及该领域延伸出的宏观物体量子力学效应与量子引力的实验检验。(2)引力波波源物理研究。
